Frequently Asked Questions

Stripwalker Frequently Asked Questions

What else do I get when I purchase a day?

Your purchased day includes a short video promo by me, your logo or message on the calendar from now until the end of 2010 and also on the website as your day's sponsor, as well as a variety of social media exposure (twitter, facebook, blog, flickr, vimeo, YouTube, etc.).

What if I don't have a shirt?

No problem. You can do one-offs at Zazzle or Cafe Press, or send me your logo (or whatever's going on the shirt), and I'll handle it for an additional $25.

Will you hand out my flyers or swag?

I guess it depends what it is. I mean if it's just flyers, postcards or business cards, no, because there are already tons of people as it is trying to hand stuff out on the Strip (that nobody wants) and it gets pretty annoying and creates litter. The late, great Mitch Hedberg said it best: "Whenever I walk, people try to hand me out flyers. And when someone tries to hand me out a flyer, it's kinda like they're saying, 'Here-you throw this away.'". If you want me to give away your shirts or some cool stuff that doesn't weigh too much or take up too much space (I have to haul it around with me after all), then yeah, I'd be willing to do that. If you send me business cards or postcards, I'll do my best to hand them out to people who approach me, but no promises. Email me to discuss.

What will you do with the shirts after you're done?

I'll probably keep a few, but for the most part I will wash them and give them to Goodwill.

How did you come up with this idea?

I didn't. After seeing the success of I Wear Your Shirt, I figured I could expand on the idea by adding a unique value proposition to it; in this case the Las Vegas Strip. Besides, it seemed like a fun way to get out from behind the computer and get some exercise.

Will you walk on holidays?

Yep. You buy it and I'll walk it.

Should I send you a long sleeve or sweat shirt for winter?

No. I am warm by default, then add the moving to it... t-shirts are going to be perfect. If there are any exceptionally cold days I'll wear an undershirt.

How many people walk the Strip each day?

According to the Las Vegas Sun, on average, 17,700 people are walking on the Strip at any given hour on any given day. During peak times there are as many as 40,000.

How far of a walk is it between Mandalay Bay and Fashion Show Mall and how long does it take?

About 8 miles round trip and roughly 3 hours give or take.

I don't have a PayPal account. Can I send you a check or pay by credit card?

Paypal doesn't require you to have an account with them to process your credit card, so you can still use your credit/debit card to order. Your credit card statement will reflect a payment to "NWC LLC" or "NEW WORLD CREATIVE." That said, I want to make the buying process as easy as possible for you, so I am willing to invoice you -- particularly if you are buying multiple days -- but please email me to discuss, since I would prefer not to "hold" days for people if possible.

What about refunds? What if I change my mind or you don't walk? Can I get my money back?

If you change your mind up to 30 days after the date of your payment, I will refund all of your money. If for any reason I don't walk, I will not only refund your money, but I will give you the next available day for free. Unless I am immobilzed or locked up abroad, I will walk. Full details in the Terms & Conditions.

Are you really going to be able to do this everyday?

I don't see why not. I have jogged an average of 9 miles a week since 2007 -- and I have been working out steadily in some form or another since 2001. I feel like I am in the best shape of my life right now. I am taking Sundays off to rest though, so I am not technically walking every day of the year.

Can I put anything I want on my shirt, and you'll still wear it?

For the most part, I'm game to wear just about anything. Hot pink shirt with flourescent yellow flowers and butterflies? Sure, why not? If you want to put your logo on a shirt, or say Happy Birthday to someone, or play some sort of a joke either on me or anybody else, then I'll probably be into it, unless of course your messaging is racist or otherwise objectionable. For the full details of what I will or won't wear, please see my Terms & Conditions.

Will you wear any other promotional clothing besides t-shirts (hats, jackets, belly shirts, etc.)?

Vegas gets 300+ days of sun a year and from May to October the temps are between 90°F to 110°F. It has been known to get up to 117°F in the middle of summer. The asphalt and concrete make it even hotter. Unless your other clothing has built-in air-conditioning, t-shirts are it. Maybe I'd consider your hat or a really sweet headband. No belly shirts, even though that would be really funny. Email me to discuss.

Will you wear my shirt throughout the day even when you're not on the Strip?

Unless I'm going to a wedding or a meeting with the President, then yeah probably.

Can I purchase multiple people to wear my shirts on any given day?

For now the plan is just for me to do it, but I really think it would be much more effective if there was a large group. Email me to discuss.

What time of day will you walk?

Generally, I will do my walks between noon and 6pm depending on the time of year and I do not intend to follow a strict schedule.

Will you walk at night?

No. It's too dark to see the shirts and people tend to get more drunk as the night wears on. Unless drunks with really keen eyesight are your target market, this is probably not the most effective way to market your brand, but what do I know?

Can I walk with you?

I don't see why not. If you're in town and want an informal tour of the Strip or you just want some exercise, then sure -- but be warned -- if I have extra shirts you may have to wear one. Email me to work out the details.

Will you pay me to walk with you?

If there is a need for multiple walkers then yes, absolutely. Email me to discuss.

Will you show up at specific places at specific times?

Some days I might meet someone for lunch on the Strip or whatever, but unless there is a compelling reason to be somewhere at a specific time, I will not be scheduling "appearances".
